Short films or videos are a great tool for business communication. And making a film can be easier than you think. My filmmaking training will show you how.
Of course, if you’re making a high-profile advertising campaign you need experienced filmmakers. But you don’t need to employ the professionals every time. Having in-house filmmaking skills will allow you to use video more widely to support and develop your business.
You can use short films for training colleagues, sharing information, and explaining products and services to customers and clients.
On my one or two day courses you’ll learn the essential skills you need to tell stories with video. Every training course is hands-on and tailored to your specific needs.
Filmmaking training: course content
I’ll take you step-by-step through the filmmaking process. You’ll learn how to
- plan and structure a short film
- use pictures, sound and editing to tell your story
- get good images and sound, whatever your gear
- edit your video so it makes sense
You can learn on your own equipment, or on my gear. I provide training on
- iPhones and iPads
- camcorders and Macs with iMovie
- pro camcorders or SLRs and Final Cut Pro
I also offer follow-up advice and support. I work all around the UK and in Europe.

Filmmaking with you
I can also work with you to make a film. On these projects, I’ll provide initial training and help with planning: you’ll do as much of the filming and editing as you want, and I’ll help you put the final film together and add a professional polish.
