The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Wednesday once again upped its ante against shops and establishments which do not display signboards in Marathi.
With 'Marathi Bhasha Diwas' looming on February 27, MNS chief Raj Thackeray has instructed the MNS cadre to launch a protest for Marathi signboards from Thursday evening, if shops and establishment do not comply.
The party has further threatened to blacken English language signboards if their demands for Marathi signs are not met. They have also demanded that the Marathi signboards should be in bold and clearly visible.
Earlier today, MNS workers protested outside the ITC hotel in Parel. They installed a Marathi language board on the hotel gates as well.
