The word ‘Mauka’ has been on everybody’s lips ever since the start of the ICC World Cup,2015. During the lead up to the tournament, an ad featuring India-Pakistan’s tantalising history in the quadrennial event, which was the theme of of the commercial. It ended up being lapped up by the masses and was lauded for its tastefully done humour content. It showcased a young man with a box of firecrackers, waiting for Pakistan’s win during the 1992 World Cup and the excruciating wait continues till the 2011 World cup.
With India winning their opening match against Pakistan, Star Sports immediately came out with another ad, this time, poking fun at India’s own inablilty to defeat South Africa in the World Cups. The video had two young Protea fans poking fun at an Indian lad. After India’s thumping 130-run victory against AB de Villiers’ side, the series continues with the young Pakistani man of 1992 making a comeback in the latest Mauka video. Now a greyhaired man, he is livid at South Africa’s performance and swaps the green jersey to minnows UAE’s. Yet again, ”Mauka’ makes us laugh.’
